Our values

Clean4Change's team has set values together that frame the work we do within our organization and in our community programming.

Some of our values are: 

• Accessibility and Universal Design: We value and do our best to embody universal design, the idea that products (in our case, events and media) should be accessible to everyone.

• Diversity: Having multiple perspectives in advocacy and educational work strengthens us all. We know that especially in climate work, indigenous and black voices are radically important to uplift. 

• Intersectionality: Understanding how the problems we each face are connected strengthens our respective movements and builds community. 

• Capacity-informed work: By respecting our own capacity, we can build a network of advocates who avoid burnout and increase productivity. 

• Playing to our skills: Someone who hates research shouldn't be doing it. By using the skills we already have in creative ways, we also play to capacity and work most effectively. • Corporate and government responsibility: We want to create a dialogue around the environment that is inclusive and kind to all and rejects the narrative that individuals are responsible for the climate crisis. We want to take actions to hold our biggest polluters responsible, like our governments and our biggest companies (AKA: Coke, Nestle, SHEIN, Temu, Amazon, etc.). We do not subscribe to language that shames individuals for their actions like using a plastic straw, not recycling, flying on a plane, shopping at the companies we mentioned above, etc. We know that we will not build a successful movement with shame, and only by empowering consumers to do what they CAN will we move forward. We are all just human, and by working together, we can solve the climate crisis.
