Our first climate cafe's were in Berea and Bowling Green and we discussed the topic of climate anxiety. So many of us today, especially our youth, know the feelings of doom and despair when it comes to the climate crisis. Feeling like the world is on fire and there's nothing you can do is overwhelming. At these climate cafe's, we discussed what eco anxiety is, how we personally experience it, and how we can address those feelings. What we came up with was to take a step back and sometimes let those feelings go, because one person can't do everything and we also can't carry that with us every day. What we can do is take action, and know that we are doing all that we are capable of to solve the climate crisis. We are not powerless, and by doing something for the environment, we are protecting ourselves and our future, and easing the anxiety we have about climate change.
