EKY Rebuilds & CAReNet

Clean4Change has been doing mutual aid flood relief work in Eastern Kentucky since April of 2024, and throughout this time we have seen a lot of different needs arise for the many groups we work with. While we continue to work with them directly to meet these needs, we are also working with many partners to create a network of organizations in EKY that can act fast when disasters strike. These partners include Berea Makerspace, Berea Arts Council, Mountain Association, and a wonderful team of Mountain Association consultants (Chris Handberg, Leah Van Winkle, Judy Sizemore, and bugz fraugg) that are helping us bring this network to life.

This network aims to address two key needs: the need for better access to tools for disaster response and recovery, and the need to integrate arts and culture into every stage of that work. One piece of this is to provide necessary resources to groups that are in the process of recovery or disaster preparedness planning. To read more about this project, get involved, and view some of those resources, please visit our landing page on The Handberg Group's website.

Here's some pictures from some of our mutual aid trips, we can't wait to head back for more!
